Legacy Middle School, the 49th school to be constructed in the Williamson County School District and 12th middle school, opened in August 2020. The school serves the Franklin community in grades 6 through 8, and has a maximum capacity of 1,000 students.

The Legacy Middle School campus features: 54 classrooms, 9 science labs, a theater, gymnasium, media center, cafeteria, and kitchen. The Outdoor Sports Complex includes concession stand, restrooms, soccer field, baseball and softball fields, and football fields.
